Chris Christie is the guy who recommended FBI Director Christopher Wray to Donald Trump, Save Jerseyans.
On Tuesday, former Governor Christie joined SiriusXM’s Julie Mason to analyze his former Bridgegate lawyer’s organization’s most controversial handiwork to date (which is really saying something).
Christie, who served as the Garden State’s U.S. Attorney before becoming a national political figure, conceded that the raid of President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago compound was “unprecedented.” Christie added that it gave rise to “concerns” in his own mind while allowing that he wasn’t “going to jump to any conclusions” and we “really don’t know what we don’t know” until detailed information about the raid’s origins and true aims were released – hopefully “sooner than later.”
Concerning the reported cracking of a safe at the world-famous Palm Beach resort, Christie concluded “it’s fair game.”
“You have to display probable cause to a federal judge […] that you have reason to believe that there are contents within that safe that would assist in proving a violation of the law, so it’s not anything that’s out of bounds to go into a safe and it happens frequently in federal law enforcement,” Christie said.
Multiple news organizations had reportedly filed motions to unseal the search warrant as of Wednesday evening.
