Developer and hotelier was victorious tonight in Mercer County, winning the GOP county line 78 votes to 24 over former News 12 reporter Alex Zdan.
Mendham Mayor Christine Serrano Glassner did not compete, opting instead to attend the Bergen County candidates’ night (the populous North Jersey county’s convention is scheduled for later this month). She received a token single vote.
Bashaw now boasts “the line” – county ticket-aligned premier ballot position – in Atlantic, Camden, Cumberland, Mercer, Ocean, and Somerset counties, and he’s expected to add hsi hoem base of Cape May to his column on Thursday night.
Serrano Glassner is the endorsed candidate in Hunterdon, Morris, Union and Warren.
Zdan is the line candidate in both Monmouth and Passaic.
A GOP U.S. Senate debate co-sponsored by Save Jersey between Bashaw, Glassner, and Zdan is set for April 3rd.
