Did you see today’s latest Fairleigh Dickinson poll, Save Jerseyans?
The broad strokes: voters still aren’t happy with New Jersey’s general direction but they don’t blame Governor Chris Christie.
Save Jersey bloggers have analyzed this phenomenon and the underlying history at-length in the past, but for those of you who are still scratching your heads (or rending your garments, as might be the case over at Buono HQ), I had a chat about it with the Inky’s South Jersey connection, Kevin Riordan, earlier Tuesday:
“For the first time in a long time, we have a leader who doesn’t make us feel like we need to take a shower after every press conference,” says conservative blogger Matt Rooney, a Haddon Heights attorney who writes at SaveJersey.com.
“To the average Garden State voter, Governor Christie is genuine if nothing else,” Rooney adds. “I think that counts for a heck of a lot in an age when voters are increasingly cynical and convinced that there’s no significant difference between the major parties.”
